Nicole Esquibel is an award-winning video and filmmaker, writer, poet and painter. Ms. Esquibel is a graduate of the prestigious University of Iowa's MFA-film and Video Production program and has been a participant of the Telluride Film Festival’s Student Filmmakers Symposium.


As a resident of New York City, she worked with a numerous acclaimed filmmakers. She has held an appointment with Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont. Her films and videos have screened both domestically and internationally. Her latest film, hush, has received tremendous critical acclaim and the project has been a closing night selection for the Kansas International Film Festival and screened at the Hot Springs International Documentary Film Festival.


She is currently finishing a video installation, La Pucelle, a post-punk re-telling of the trial of Joan of Arc . Ms. Esquibel is an Assistant Professor at Avila University. She lives in Kansas City, Missouri.
